Beginning Balance for Non-Escrow Banking Account
If balance is from an existing bank account
- Existing bank account must be reconciled prior to establishing the balance in Pro Gold XP
- Enter “Ending Balance” from most recent bank statement
- Enter all outstanding checks and deposits from existing system
- Verify account balance in Pro Gold XP once all outstanding checks and deposits have been entered
A Beginning Balance Entry via the bank Adjustment Tab is required to enter the initial balance in Pro Gold XP (The amount of the adjustment is based on the ending balance from the most recent bank statement):
- $10,000.00 Ending balance from statement (Entered via Adjustment Tab)
- $3,820.00 Balance of all outstanding transactions entered (Entered individually)
- $6,180.00 Final balance in Pro Gold XP
Post this adjustment transaction to the proper cash account in the General Ledger (Select appropriate bank account and use an equity type G/L account as the offset account to the cash entry [e.g., 3010 Beginning Balance Equity, 3000 Retained Earnings, etc...])
If a new bank account with no previous checks, deposits or adjustments:
- Simply select the account and enter a deposit
